This could be in the area of knowledge where you think that you are smarter than everyone else, especially the uneducated.It might also have to do with physical attributes. There are for example beautiful women who think that they are so beautiful and attractive that they only deserve to be married to tall, handsome and good looking men.
Then there are people who because they grew up rich or became rich, think that they deserve only the company of other rich and successful people. They also usually look down on poor people or people beneath their wealth status.
Although everyone needs a healthy dose of confidence and pride in oneself, excessive confidence and belief in oneself can be a bad thing, especially if you believe that you are someone special.

But this can’t be helped as being a celebrity usually means that you’re also rich or about to become rich. The combination of these two factors is very alluring. This is why a lot of people would do everything, including bad things, to either become famous and/or a celebrity.
These people think that having a normal life is something to be looked down on. They think that life should be about living a life of luxury and glamour and they become distraught if they aren’t living this kind of life.

There are employees who think that they are too good for their company that if they are not promoted to senior positions in a short time, they think that their company is shortchanging them. They become hostile to the companies that hire them but don’t promote them immediately.
These are also employees who detest working mundane tasks for their company because in their mind, they are only suited to give orders and not to take orders. As a result, they become hard to work with and are usually terminated from their job after a time.

There are also children who just because they are doing well academically, expect to be pampered by their parents. These children would also likely grow up thinking that just because they are smart, they deserve to be rich and even popular one day.

This is because all the characteristics which you think makes you special can disappear in an instant and there would always be another person who have better characteristics than you. For example, you may be a millionaire but you can meet a person who is a billionaire.
Besides, not all people care whether you are smart, beautiful, physically superior and/or rich. In fact, they might even detest you, which means that instead of being treated as special, you would be treated as an outsider, making your social life miserable.
