How To Make Money Vs. How To Get Promoted Vs. How To Find A Job Vs. Soccer Vs. Basketball Vs. Cars


I researched in Google Trends the above three keywords and realized a lot of facts about entrepreneurs and employees. The most important fact being that most people want to earn money more than they want to be employees.

According to Google Trends (see the chart below), a disproportionate number of people are searching online for ways to earn money rather than just look for a job or be promoted in their job. This means that people want to earn money besides just being an employee.

But there’s more to this information especially if you analyze the per country details. Google Trends report that a lot of people from poor, developing and developed countries are looking for a job.

But a disproportionate number of people from poor and developing countries are the ones who are actually actively searching for information online of ways to find a job. This is not surprising consider that there are less employment opportunities in poor and developing countries.






























MORE PEOPLE FROM DEVELOPED COUNTRIES ARE LOOKING FOR WAYS TO BE PROMOTED

The title of this paragraph says it all. This just indicates that more people from developed countries are gainfully employed and are looking for further ways to enhance their career by finding ways to be promoted.

Singapore has a search result of approximately 94%, United Kingdom 85%, and the United States 80%. This means that if you are an online content creator, there is a huge possibility that you would get a lot of ad revenues if you developed such digital content.

This is because the mentioned countries and all the others in the list are developed countries. Ad companies pay higher rates for ads that target these developed countries most especially the USA.

In fact, when I did the Google Trends research, only about 11 countries/regions registered search numbers for ways to get promoted. This means that not many people in the world are searching for ways to be promoted.

This means that there are less people interested in getting promoted and are more interested in finding a job and for that matter are more interested in finding ways to make money.



A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE LOOKING FOR A JOB

Google Trends data also indicate that a lot of people are looking for a job in both poor, developing and developed countries. This is not surprising considering that a lot of people are really unemployed in all countries.

This is good news for content creators who are creating content for the search topic. Since their content would likely be viewed and even rank in many countries which include developed and developing ones.

The topic has a 76% interest rating in the USA. This just means the probability of having higher income as a lot of online ad agencies target the US market. To repeat, online ad agencies usually pay a premium for online content that target Americans.

But since the topic is also popular in poor and developing countries, in fact very popular, there is a high likelihood that content creators who make topics about how to look for a job would even earn more money.

These online content creators also have the possibility of being known in many parts of the world since the topic is searched in 50 countries/regions.

DON’T CELEBRATE YET

You might think that just because Google Trends indicate that a lot more people are looking for ways to make money than actually looking for a job or finding ways to be promoted you should write a lot more online content for ways of making money.

There are actually more searched topics online than the search topic how to make money. For example, if you analyzed the search results for the topic “soccer” in Google Trends, you would be astounded to find out that a much, much more number of people are interested in soccer.

That’s right, according to the search results of Google Trends, not a lot of people are interested in making money as compared to the game of soccer. This just means that you’ll probably have more success if you create digital content dedicated to soccer.

You might be sad now that you know that more people want to play sports or be entertained by sports than learn how to make money. But this is one reality in the online content business. Your personal taste in topic might not be as popular as you think.

This just means that if your aim in creating digital content is to make money, research first what people are searching online and not just create the content that you like.



DO I HAVE AN EXPLANATION FOR THE GOOGLE TRENDS FIGURE?

I’m no expert, but I’ll try to give my analysis. I believe that a lot of people today are interested in making money beyond just making money as an employee by earning a salary. Many people today have realized that there are many avenues to make money.

We can attribute a lot of this to the internet and most especially on social media which continually shows successful entrepreneurs and celebrities showing their lavish lifestyle which they can afford because they have found a way to make money besides being an employee.

But of course a lot of people realize too that it takes a lot of luck to be one of these celebrity entrepreneurs. They know that mere hardwork alone and perseverance is not enough to get lucky.

In the end, once people are making enough money as an entrepreneurs or as employees, these people become contended and start to chase money a lot less. Many settle in their station in life.

They then find other avenues to give them meaning or to excite them in life like sports entertainment, soccer for example. This just means that although entertainment like sports seem useless in life, many people are more interested in them than in their careers or money.






























HERE’S MORE

We already know that much more many people are interested in soccer than making money or finding a job. I also researched if ”basketball” is popular. It turns out that basketball is more popular than soccer.

So, based on this, we can ascertain that making online content for sports topics like soccer and basketball is more profitable than creating entrepreneurial and career related topics. But wait, there’s more. I also tried the search topic “cars” and it turned out that the topic is much popular than the sports topic of soccer and basketball.

In fact the popularity interest rating of “cars” hovers approximately between 82 to 100% on average. This is a very high rating which suggests that topics related to cars is very profitable. Cars as a search topic ranks high in many developed countries.

This includes the US and Australia and many developed countries in Europe. Each of these countries are very lucrative countries in terms of online content monetization. To repeat, this is because online ad agencies pay premium fees for content creators targeting such countries.



REMEMBER THE COMPETITION

If you are an online content creator and you’re now interested in creating online content dedicated to sports like soccer and basketball or maybe you’ve now decided to become a revhead and create online content for cars, remember that you’re not alone.

Many seasoned online content creators already know that sports and cars are much searched about topics online. In fact, even when the internet hasn’t existed yet, sports and cars were already popular.

If your old enough to remember when people still read printed newspapers, there would be sports sections and cars sections in the newspaper. This is how popular these two topics are. Just like many businesses, success in producing online content as a career takes a lot of luck.

But being a regular YouTube viewer everyday, I on a regular basis watch many car oriented videos and I can definitely say that car videos are one of the most popular videos in YouTube and many car presenters even become celebrities.

For example, the YouTube Channel of Supercar Blondie has many followers not only in YouTube but in Instagram, Tweeter and so on. It is worth studying her channel so you would have an idea why she became a millionaire social media content creator.



CONCLUSION

Based on Google Trends, not many people are searching topics related to getting promoted, finding a job and in making money. A lot more people are interested in sports such as soccer and basketball.

But besides sports, a lot more people are interested in cars. This means that you would have a better chance of succeeding if you produce content dedicated to these two topics which are not related to personal finances.
